I got nothin.

I realize it's early yet, it's a slow year, gotta be patient, adcoms make Godot look punctual... etc. etc. But I got nothin, and it's kinda starting to wear thin.

I thought maybe we late bloomers could share rants, uplifting stories of personal triumph over adversity, top ten lists of how to not check your mail *quite* so many times a day...and you get the gist.
Anyone?

aside from the fact that I became a neurotic and obsessed freak i also became addicted to email;
i check it every hours, maybe more. at least, some schools promised me to give an "update" in two weeks. 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

I have heard NADA. It gets a little frustrating, especially having to read all of these "I GOT IN" and "DO I GO TO YALE OR JOHN HOPKINS" threads. (just kidding.. best of luck to them and congrats! hope i dont offend anyone 🙂

But still, I try not to harass my mailman excessively. Its gets a little upsetting when I get the mail and only have a Filenes one-day-sale coupon brochure, the phone bill, a letter from my high school begging me to give to their annual appeal, and a postcard telling me to log onto <a href="http://www.FEETareNEAT.edu" target="_blank">www.FEETareNEAT.edu</a> to check out some podiatric school in some little underdeveloped island off the southern most tip of antartica. I guess ill still be waiting with the rest of ya. good luck to everyone

i took the august mcat (although i took the april one as well) and have had two interviews and one acceptance...

everything is behind this year...i would suggest calling your schools to ask them what the hold-up is...amcas, mcat, or they might just be slow as hell...each school is a little different on how they are getting thru the process...just call and see what is up...one school i called last week just sent me their secondary because of my call

There's another thread that suggests that only high stat folks are being called early, and that the lowers will be called as backup after the high qualifiers send in their acceptance responses. I have a weak Aug. MCAT score (1st time), so I think that even if I do get an interview (remote poss.), it probably won't come until next year. Anyways, I am currently prepping for the April 2002 MCAT, and am prepared to relive this wonderful AMCAS experience all over again!

I got tired of waiting and called the schools I applied to. About half of them still do not have my August scores even though my app. was verified about 3 weeks ago. I just faxed 6 schools copies of my score report. I would highly suggest calling and finding out what the hold up is.

What do you guys think about the 'higher stats getting interviews earlier' thing? I gotta believe it's bunk.

The waiting is killing me! Many of the schools I have called did not yet receive my August scores. I hope that's the only reason I have not received an invite! Checking my mail is depressing...
