I applied to this program but can't decide if it's good or not, so I thought this forum could help sort it out. It's in highly-desirable Austin, Texas. It's community-based but is expected to be taken over by the University of Texas at Galveston in a year. So it will remain a community program with a university label. They rotate in a private psych inpatient hospital primarily but also have rotations at the county hospital for C&L, and also participate in community clinics. They only have 4-5 full-time faculty, but they also have about 20-30 (or more) volunteer faculty.
My interest at this point is private practice, so I am trying to determine if this program will give me adequate training. I am not sure if it will be good enough to give graduates the option of academia.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!
