Ive got a BS in Biology and I'm planning on applying to vet schools in Austrailia. But not sure what program I am suppose to apply to..

Is a BVSc (Bachelor of Vet Science) from U. of Melbourne is equivalent to a Doctor of Vet Medicine degree here in US? In other words, are you eligible to practice vet medicine when u graduate from the Bachelor program in Austrailia? 😕

Yep. BVSc = DVM. You'll still be called doctor in both countries. As long as the school is AVMA-accredited, as Melbourne, Murdoch and Sydney are, you'll be eligible to practice in the States. You'll need to take the NAVLE and state board exams just like everyone else.

Veterinary Medicine is an undergraduate degree in Australia! However, if you're looking at going to melbourne, they are restructuring their degree so that from the 2010 intake, they will do 3 years science type stuff, followed by 3 years clinical, so you graduate with a DVM. So you might be eligible for a lot of credit, depending on your majors with your previous degree.
