Hate to start a new thread but I couldn't find a previous thread which answered my ?

How strict is the cut-off/will I likely get rejected from VCOMs with these stats. My gpa is >3.2 in the last 120 credits as well fyi..

Anybody had success still getting II with similar stats?

I dont know if it helps but I consider my ECs and LORs to be very, very good.

Thanks in advance.

I would guess your cGPA didnt make the cut; VCOM probably wanted a 3.2 or above.

Probably a hard cGPA cutoff. Could wait until you're verified then contact them to make sure though.

OHHHH trust me. I did my research. I feel sorry for people who didn't. That's giving away free money........ 😢

Wait, I thought it was .....

$35 per school + 195 Application .....sooooo

(35*X+195) = Y
x = number of schools
y = final cost of application
195 = set value of the application

So where did you get $29 dollars from? @mathnerd88

Yes, I edited my previous post. $35 was what I meant. I thought it was $195 for the first school and $35 for each additional school afterwards.

Ok, some mistook my post.

I did not get rejected. I have not even applied to this school yet. I did look on VCOM website and saw the cut-offs. I am wanting to know if others have had success with my stats aka they are not "hard cut-offs".

I misread. I saw auto-reject and assumed. Oooops.

Well, last year, their incoming class had 3.6/26, but they take account of every aspect of your application. I think you will have a fighting chance. Your ECs will carry you.

Yeah, well like you said I am not into throwing away $35. I might just end up throwing an app out there anyway and update others who in a similar situation stat-wise.

I'm still applying to VCOM. Gotta take every opportunity...... like sending a Wink Bomb on Match.com........

VCOM never sent me a secondary and I emailed them twice and they claim to still be screening me. They said they received a lot of applications so it takes time to screen. I submitted my primary in July. They have been screening me for a secondary for 5 months. LOL. Why they haven't just rejected me is really beyond my understanding.

Come again?

Some posters on here have indicated that they relieved secondaries from luck despite not having the 3.25 gpa (either cum or sci). Claims go that meeting at least 2 of 3 (min cgpa min sgpa min mcat) will grant you secondary if the two requirements are met exceptionally well (ex high mcat or high Gpa).

I say claims because I'm only reciting what posters have out on here in the school's thread.

Come again?

You said that a 3.25 is a hard sGPA cutoff made by KCU...and I said: a 3.25 sGPA is NOT HARD. I mean we are trying to become doctors and be responsible of people's lives. A 3.25 indicates failed courses and/or many B's and C's. I would want the doctor treating me to meet at least the minimum requirements for medical school matriculation.

That's not what the question meant. "Hard" in this aspect means anything below a 3.25 is for sure going to screen you out. A "soft" cutoff is when admissions will consider other aspects of your application or your stats in order to "forgive" not meeting that cutoff.

For sGPA or cGPA? Is it like a KCU 3.25 hard cutoff for sGPA?

KCU's is a bit stricter compared to VCOM's from what I've seen in the cycle. No matter what your MCAT score is (it can be a 33+) KCU will cut your app out if your GPA falls below a 3.25. I have seen VCOM applicants accepted below a 3.25 if they had other aspects of their application is strong.

FYI, KCU seems to be a bit more forgiving about the MCAT score (particularly in the VR section if it's below an 8) than the GPA. Idk why.

Lol... not what I meant
