As incoming students did you have to write an autobiography to share with your classmates? What did you say? Was it more personal or professional? What was the average length? My first assignment and I'm already panicked (and procrastinating). Ugh!

Haha, we did those of course, and I remember everyone stressed about them way more than they needed to. Length ranged from about 2 sentences to about a page. I'd say that one or two paragraphs is plenty.

What people talked about varied a lot. People often mentioned their family, where they are from, where they went to school, cool animal experiences they've had, how long they have wanted to be a vet, maybe what kind of vet they want to be, etc. As to if it was personal or professional, that just depends on you and how comfortable you are with sharing. Write something you don't mind the entire school knowing (including faculty), but don't stress about it too much. There is no grade. And the format is completely optional, you could do bullet points if you wanted.

No need to worry (or panic).

yes, we have to do it too and its mainly to get to know each other. I think they want to get to know everyone more personally (obviously we all have animal experiences and backgrounds), so they wanted us to include stuff like activities we enjoyed outside of the vet world like outdoor sports and tv shows. that was tough for me because i dont watch much tv and the only outdoor sport i partake in is bicycling. but i dont think its a big deal-i think its more to get to know one another. dont panic!

I haven't finished mine either! I think I'm just going to keep it short since I can't think of anything worth saying!

Don't stress too much! At the same time, don't put anything TOO incriminating in them because some people in your class will carry their 'stalker book' around to read during classtime... 😉

Nothing incriminating? I won't have anything left to say.

Stalker book? To class with them? Isn't that just a laptop with internet connection? 😀

Seriously though, what are y'all talking about? Your schools make y'all write up a diddy about your life and then publishes them for everyone?

LOL! and yes, they do. I had way to much fun thinking up the quirkiest things about myself, and my co-workers had way to much fun reminding me of the ones I forgot to mention.

Ha we had to write one as well - I believe mine was about two sentences 😉

I wasn't sure what to write for mine either. I ended up writing about 5 or 6 sentences about my hobbies, pets, and a few quirky facts about me--like the fact that I love orange flavored things. 😀
