A question for debate: does having an F and 2-3 D's on your transcript automatically mean that you should do post-bacc, rather than directly apply to medicial school, even if your GPA is above 3.0? (aight, it's 3.1) What if you have a really good mcat score (say 35 or above) and strong extracurricular, ie. fellowship awards, chemical and international research, really good references, lots of hospital/patient interaction, etc. or is there a chance you could get into med school on the first try? I wouldn't be disappointed to do a post-bacc, it's just that i would love to get started right away if i could.

Many thanks in advance.

If your D's and F's are in your BCPM classes, you should take them over, yes. Even with your MCAT and EC's your GPA is still significantly out of range from the average MD acceptances (>/= 3.55 Sci.GPA).
