Hi everyone! I am at that point in vet school in which I am looking into jobs now (currently in my fourth year) and was wondering what a good starting salary for new graduate veterinarians is in Oregon (specifcally in the Beaverton area)? I am also looking into Banfield and was wondering everyone's thoughts on what they offer, their mentorship/on boarding program, and their overall experience was. Thank you!

The chances of people here having these specific details as far as salary goes is pretty low. Your best chance to get accurate info is to start to reach out to clinics in that area to see what their offers are like. And salary isn't the only or even biggest consideration. What are the tangible and intangible benefits like?

Contact the Banfields in that area as well! I've found that the main influence of corporates are your direct management and the folks one or two levels above them. So even assessing the Banfield mentorship in my area may have 0 influence on the area you want to move to. I've found every single mentorship program across all corporates seem to have 0 consistency from one hospital to the next

Thank you so much for your reply! I will take that into consideration!

I have reliefed at some Banfield's, and not that you asked about this specifically, but your daily schedule will be packed full. I was seeing between 20-25 appointments, did not have time to eat, was trying to figure out how the heck their wellness plans worked, but worked with efficient assistants and techs. If you like fast paced medicine, then I would continue looking into Banfield!
