Hi I just took a DAT practice test without any studying and got a 13 overall AA and 14 perceptual. Is this normal for not studying?

Most people don't waste a practice test before having any basic studying done first, so don't expect there to be a general consensus on average DATs of students with 0 preparation.

What is the average for someone who has never taken the DAT? I wanted to know if that is a good place to start

Have you completed the required classes? Those scores indicate you have missed more than 50 percent of the problems. You definitely need to buckle down and do a lot of hard work if you want to score 20 plus on the DAT. What practice test did you take?

I got a 16 on a Bootcamp test for GC before I started studying, and ended up with a GC of 30. But that's because I forgot a ton of the material between first semester and recently. If you think you actually do know the material and just need to relearn stuff you knew at one time like I did, I'd worry less. However, I wouldn't waste practice tests. You should definitely study first before actually testing yourself, or else you'll answer test questions via recognition and not actual knowledge.
