Away elective at UAB

I am considering doing an away at this program in July. Has any one done an away at this program? Any body either a student, resident, or attending at this program? I am trying to find the relative cost of living here for a month if I was to do an away. I am ok with living in an extended stay america kind of deal. Any kind of input will be much appreciated. Please PM if you have specific/private information to offer. Thanks in advance.

Have no ties to the program, but the cost of living should be comparable to where you are currently. Great program at UAB. I know a few folks who trained there.

Great program. Very High surgical volume all of which is staffed, one of only a handful of programs with a dedicated eye ER which brings in a tremendous amount of diverse pathology. UAB hospital is one of the largest in the country. Cost of living is average for a midsize city, not as much as Atlanta but not as cheap as somewhere smaller like Tuscaloosa.

I interviewed at UAB last year. It was one of my favorite programs and I would highly recommend it.
