Away Rotation Help

I am debating about what type of away rotation to schedule. I am tempted to do my home ophtho rotation and then follow it up with a two month research rotation. I would be able to get a big name letter at the end of this rotation. (cause my research is weak) I would do this rather than an away clinical rotation.

What do you think? What is the latest away rotation that would be beneficial to my app (I mean which month)?

This is far too late in the application cycle for this year. Do you mean next year? Or can you do this in third year? Your profile says you're a resident already - is that true? Being a resident in another field can make it trickier.
