so, as a lot of you may know, I did an away rotation at BIDMC in August, but was not offered an interview there. Well, I have still not received a grade/eval for the ID course I took, and found out today that the registrar's office "called the administrator in charge in that dept., she is working on getting your grade and eval. We'll let you know the 'progress' tomorrow." Um, it has been nearly 6 months and I gave her the names of the attendings and the main fellow I worked with in late August, and sent all the forms to the registrar's office at Hah-vahd months in advance! I'm really worried that none of the attendings except the one who wrote me an LOR will remember me at this point and will just check straight Passes on the eval, which would wreck my chances of matching just about anywhere. I can deal with being rejected from BIDMC, but am really concerned.. Any suggestions on how I can straighten this out? Other than calling my super-supportive Dean of Students (just a hint of sarcasm there).. thanks guys..

Irlandesa, I truly feel sorry for your predicament. I don't think that getting a pass now will wreck anything, and you have the chance to not update your transcript again for the remainder of the season, which is <gasp> only two more months.
I really believe that your ID attending at BIDMC did not give you a strong letter of support. If he had, you would have gotten an interview. Did you see the letter? Maybe you are giving him more credit than he deserves.

I also had the same problem with the Harvard Medical School registrar's office. However, what I did is that I bypassed them altogether. I had my school's registar's office fax a form directly to the course director. The course director faxed the form back to my school and within a day the new grade appeared on my transcript. Don't believe Harvard's claim that the course directors can only fill out HMS grading sheets. As long as your attg agrees with filling out your medical school's form, you should ask your registrar's office to fax a form to him/her. You could also ask them what others in your position have done as I am sure that you are NOT the only person at your school with this problem.
As for these grades affecting the match, they won't unless you resubmit a new transcript to programs before the match. Hope that helped.
