Hey, I had a quick question about scheduling away rotations. I wanted to set one up for Oct/Nov. I know it is getting a little late. I wanted to know if it is bad form to apply to multiple programs for the same month. I have contacted some programs and they have room for me. I am just a little worried that if I only apply to 1 program and for some reason they cant have me, it will be too late to apply anywhere else. I also dont want to burn bridges for when they come across my application for residency.

What specialty?

I applied to multiple programs for each given month (since some of the hospitals' programs were quite competitive) and just cancelled the ones that I didn't want later on. But I did this in February or March, so tough to say what would happen since it's already Fall.

Might make a difference is the program is having problems filling their spots.

Can you get any of them to say you've got a spot? That's what happened to me for my August away, so I wouldn't have to apply to more than 1 program.

Emergency Med. I emailed them and they said they "should be able to accommodate" you. How long did it take you to hear back from your program after you sent in your application?

I used VSAS, and the school didn't know what was going on, so i had to call them and ask about the official decision, since there was no update online for about 2 weeks. I had contacted the residency director early about a spot.
