Away rotations

I'm considering doing an away rotation in the south. I was wondering if anyone had any good experiences with particular rotations or suggestions. I understand that it's a good idea to do them as early as possible from the advice I've received. Thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

I think July or August of the year you are applying is ideal for rotations.
