This past semester I wasn't focused enough on my school work and ended up getting a D in Life Science Calculus. I immediately registered for a retake. Over the summer the school changed the credit value of the course from a 4 credit hour course to a 3 credit hour course and the only way to do a retake with the school is to take the same exact course. They would not allow me to take a different version of the course such as Business Calculus. My question is will this be a major issue going forward? Will I automatically be weeded out due to not following their retake guidelines?

You won't be weeded out, but you won't get to replace that grade.

I actually spoke with someone at AACOMAs yesterday because I am re-taking a course from my undergrad that was 4 credit hours and I am re-taking it at a different institution where it is 3 credit hours. The representative actually said that is okay as long as the course title and description are the same.

I would call to double check but thats the answer I was given.

The rep was wrong. It's clear on the guidelines that your repeat has to be the same or more credits.

Ok, so admissions would just view it as me taking 2 separate calc 1 classes then?
Yes. If you don't need the course, I recommend moving on. A single D in a non-prerequisite will not tank an application.

I believe Triage is correct as well. I will contact LECOM Bradenton, a nearby school, about their thoughts on the situation as well.
