Hi, current 4th year vet student here. I am looking at improving my spay and neuter skills (in ideally both dogs and cats).
I was wondering if anyone knows of any clinics/shelters in Arizona (Phoenix or Tucson ideally) that would let me be super hands on and practice my Spays and Neuters?
I have done plenty of cat neuters, 2 cat spays, 1 bitch spay, and 1 dog neuter so far but I am definitely not confident yet. I always feel weird talking about surgical skills because I want to get the surgical experience, but I also feel like I just need a good couple days of teaching/hand holding and then I could probably be a big help at a clinic.
Please let me know if this is an unrealistic way of thinking. One of my goals when graduating is to donate some of my time to low cost spay and neuter clinics so I would really like to be competent in these skills when graduating.
