I'm headed to AZCOM this fall and I was hoping some current/former/future students could help me out with some apartment names of good spots to check out when I head down there...

I'm not interested in the on-campus apartment. I've heard the apartments across the street are really nice but pretty steep for 1BRs. I'm looking for a reasonably priced, nice apartment complex to secure an apartment. It's okay if I have to do a short 5-10 min. drive to the school. It doesn't have to be a crazy-nice apartment, just clean and quiet would be nice.

Any thoughts? Please post or PM.

Thanks guys.

** Haha, forgot to add that I have read a few of these "apartment review" sites and people just tear apart every apartment. They make it sound like every apartment in Glendale is infested with roaches and has sh*tty management.

Hey, I'm in the same situation, except, well, I live in Arizona. I will be attending Midwestern in the Fall (it's for sure now) and I am going to be looking at housing in the next few weeks here, so I'll let you know what I find out--if I can find this thread again! Are you looking for roomates or family housing?

Hey,

I think I'm going to do a 1BR at least for the first year until I get to know some people...so I guess I'm looking for just a reasonably priced decent 1br apartment for a little less than the $800 or whatever they want across the street. That's outrageous.

Look forward to seeing you guys soon!

I know I have heard good things from former students about the apartments across the street.

However, I am going to live a house close to campus. Anyone looking for a house I would like to find a couple of 1st years as roommates if anyone is interested just PM me.

the appartments accross the streets are good. they are a bit pricey but for the access i think they are worth it. there are 2 San Prado and San Lagos. There are other good appartments also. I heard that Sage Stone has a scorpion problem maybe avoid that.

I have a place about 15 minutes from campus and drive everyday. I am looking to rent it next year also if anyone is interested in that.

I'm going to be living at San Lagos with my fiance in a 2-BR. With a roommate it's not that bad, comparable to what I'm paying now for rent...I think there's a housing forum on the Interact Now site that you can also hook up with people who are looking for roommates...

Congrats on getting into AZCOM. Its a great school as you'll soon see.

My family and I lived in San Lagos (apartments across the street) for 2 years. They raised our rent $200 when we wanted to sign another lease so we moved. They are nice and very close to campus. Gas is getting more expensive too and it was nice to go home for lunch.

If you are looking for relatively cheap place in a good neighborhood, I would suggest Pavillions at Arrowhead. We have a 2 bedroom and pay $850. W've been here for 1 1/2 years and have had no problems.

I regret not buying a house when we moved down. I would seriously look into this as the market seems to have leveled out and there are a lot of houses now for sale. Besides a little of a driven, Surprise is a nice area to live

I hope to go to AZCOM - that's my first choice school..I'm applying this upcoming round. I've lived in Glendale all my life.

I also agree with the above post - Surprise would be a great place to live. Unfortunately it'd be a 20-30 min drive (depending on how you drive). I heard of a place called Marley Park. www.marleypark.com - Some of the nurses where I work said that they've got decently priced houses if you're looking to make an investment...

In terms of apartments - I would stay in the Arrowhead area, as well. It's going to be a nice place to live, and should be relatively quiet. I know they just put up some apartments around the Loop 101 and b/t 51st and 59th ave. I should be going past there tomorrow, so I'll take a look for you to see what the names are if I drive by. I'm not sure if you can map out apartment complexes on an "apartment finder" website, but if you do see one or two you're interested in, PM me, and I'll drive by for you to give you my 2 cents.

Hi Everyone,
I'm an incoming student for this fall, and will be moving in from out of state. I'm getting a new place, but I don't have a bed. I'm actually a Podiatry student, but as you probably know, the Podiatry school doesn't have any 4th years, so nobody's getting rid of their stuff. If any 4th year AZCOM students have a bed to sell, please let me know. You can e-mail me at [email protected]. I won't be coming into town until June 1st, so that's the earliest I'd be able to come look/buy, but if there's a possibility of arranging something beforehand, that'd be great. Thanks so much.

Hi newbies,
Conrats on coming to AZCOM. My roomate and I saved a lot of money for the last two years, living off campus. She took off, so now I am looking for a new housemate, pref female... 2 BRs and own bath for 425, 10 min from school max. If you are interested or have any questions let me know. Otherwise, would recommend researching rentals etc. There are a lot of options and dollars to be saved.

Hi all AZCOMers.

I will be moving into San Prado, but I looked at the Isle at Arrowhead (67th ave just north of the 101) and they have 1 bedrooms for $750, 2 bedrooms for $900 and 3 bedrooms from $1000.

I toured one of the 3 bedrooms, they are pretty nice, and still very close to campus. Here is a link:
