Hey AZpoD 2011 students.
My name is Sang Kim. I will be attending AZPOD from this August.

I have a question about the health insurance and disability insurance.

i think it's ridiculous to pay 180 dollars every month for health insurance.
Is this good deal?? I never had any kind of health insurance before so please help me out.
Do you guys know any cheaper insurance that waives the insurance that school requires?

Most will allow you to waive their insurance if you have proof of coverage with some place else. If you have coverage through your parents or spouse then you don't have to take the school's insurance. You may be able to check on the internet for different health insurance companies. Many do it for people that are self-employed.

There are tons of different insurance plans available out there, some at really low rates. However, you do run the risk of "getting you what pay for". They may be cheap but some have ridiculous out of pocket expenses for visits, prescriptions, poor deductables, etc. I compared AZPODs proposed plan to other plans around the same costs, and found that AZPOD plan has lower copays and the better deductables. But yes, $200 a month is expensive. A good website to check is http://www.ehealthinsurance.com/
