I know that some MD schools do but just wondering if anyone knew if DO schools do the same... I understand NYCOM only sends secondaries out to those they plan on interviewing... Anyone else?
I think a bunch of them screen. WVSOM only sends secondaries to the people they are going to interview. And some people said last year that they recieved rejections from VCOM pre-secondary.
AACOMAS takes your highest grade only in a repeated course into consideration for your GPA, this is different from AMCAS which averages all your grades. For this reason if you had a bad semester for whatever reason and failed some classes but retook them and aced them, your DO application GPA can be substantially higher then your MD application GPA. As for minimum cut-off points you can refer to www.aacom.org under medical schools and find that information all in one place. Usually it is a recommended cut-off point and not a definite.
