So I am taking college composition 2 this semester and I just got a B on the first quiz.
Should I withdraw from the class? I don't think I can get an A.
Retake in Community College?

I really don't want to have a B in English

If you start taking Ws every time you might get a B you are going to have waaaaay too many Ws

A lot of schools want you to have a year of English anyways

I know, if it was organic chemistry I would be fine with a B, but since it is English it's not worth lowering my GPA.

If you have a W, it's reasonable to believe you were failing that course when you withdrew. Is that the impression you want to give?

Btw, it'd be worse to have a B in a prereq like Orgo compared to English. The former would affect your BCPM. The english grade won't.

Edit: Didn't realize this was B on the first quiz. OP take a xanax with some warm milk and go to sleep.

Dude... a B on the FIRST QUIZ?

Are you serious? A B on the first quiz and you, and I quote, "don't think I can get an A."

What the heck dude. You have MONTHS of time to get an A.

If you get A's in every other class, it won't be much of a problem. Dropping a course because of one B in English is stupid.

It's just a quiz bro. Work harder and you'll be fine. How hard you work will determine if you get that A

Thanks everyone. I will see what I get on the big essay and then decide if I should drop or not.

B from the lousy ratemyprofessor? at a school you wanted to transfer out of but your parents are embarrassed by you attending community college and you're wanting to know reqs of Top 5 medical schools...

I think you need to figure out step 1 first otherwise all your threads make you look like a troll which is a "who cares?" for some but it wastes people's time when they consider your questions and answer responsibly.

The only reason you might feel so insecure about the grade, as far as I can tell, is because you're still thinking of graduate school in the humanities (what I've gleaned from your post history), and if that's the case you need to work hard to try to bring that grade up. But ultimately your major GPA will probably be what's looked at most if you apply to graduate school. And if you keep up this neuroticism you're going to hate pre-med (and especially OChem, which can be a very competitive class).

Don't drop for a B... I got a B- in one of my English classes because I sucked at writing when I started school. I got into med school. That B is not a death sentence.

I am not trolling, sorry, it is just devastating because I knew from the beginning this is not a good professor and didn't want to attend this school.
I already filled a withdrawal form for the end of the semester, I am also worried this B will hurt my transfer chances, since I got denied from my first choice with a 4.0 GPA.

You got me right, I am still considering a graduate school in the humanities, and I wish I could decide. Things would be so much easier without pre-med.

I'm having trouble following, are you saying you went ahead and withdrew from English or are you saying you withdrew from another class? Where are you trying to transfer from/to? Have you shadowed and are still uncertain of MD vs humanities?

I withdrew from the university in general for the end of the semester. I will be attending community college again this summer and get my associate.
I have over 100 hours of clinical experience.

So what's the long term plan? Transfer to a different 4-year after doing a few more CC semesters?

Yes, I have only 6-7 credits left for my associates, which I can do over the summer and then transfer somewhere else.

Gotcha. Well I'd stick it out in English, it's not worth burning a W over a B on a quiz. Hope the transfer apps go well!

You got a B on the first quiz, not a B in the course. Stop misleading us with those titles, this isn't youtube.

Just curious, did you end up submitting the transfer app? Sorry for being weird, found your posts intriguing for some odd reason.

Just curious, I was reading your threads. How many schools did you transfer?
