Hey everyone,

I just got my results for the physics final, and I am having some major anxiety now. Without extra credit, my grade comes out to a 88.4, but he adds all of our extra credit at the end of the semester as a boost. The problem is, I dont know exactly how much extra credit I have, hence the anxiety.

I'm just here to ask if anyone else here has gotten a B in Physics 1 and still had successful cycles to US MD programs.

Thank you for your help

It is one grade, we don't know your whole situation, grades in other prereqs, EC's, cGPA, sGPA etc etc.... People have gotten in with C's and B's, but overall they looked pretty competitive or at least average. It is just a B don't sweat it unless your sGPA is tanked right now, just make sure you kill physics 2.

A in Bio 1, A in Chem 1, A in College Algebra, A in Trig are as far as my Science grades have gone so far. I've accumulated around 100+ hours of hospital volenteering which I'm still doing four hours a week. I do have >100 shadowing hours though..And no research yet, as I'm still in community college...

I knew someone who got a B in physics and then he dropped out of college. I saw him working at Wendy's (he gave me a free chocolate frosty).

tl;dr change majors and obviously getting a B in one class isn't going to ruin your chances

also 3/10

Well, I am currently applying this cycle and have received a number of interviews (which I am incredibly grateful for). I can't recall how many B's I have in my prereq's but I know that u have more than one. A's are not everything and alone will not get you into medical school.

Try to relax, it's all good. I think B's in some classes shows that you are not a robot. Just my opinion.

Good luck.

SDN's interpretation of the 2012 Mayan prophecy: a B in physics, and no more med school dream.

Lol anxiety and stress will kill you..don't worry. I got a B in physics 1 and made up for it with an A in physics 2. Don't worry. Also, it was an 88 in physics 1 just like you. Chill out, you are not the only one. If worse comes to worse and your GPA drops a tad below the competitive range you have the MCAT to balance it out.

1 B? I've gotten two Bs in my undergrad career and admittedly I felt like crap. Still though, it's easy to repair your grade after that unless your GPA is already low.

I heard a B in physics one gets u screened out of most MD schools. However DO schools will accept a retake.

It will all work out in the end. My friend got a B in physics and he thought it was the end of this life. Turns out, he got accepted to Ross in the Caribbean. So there is still hope for you!

there are people who have gotten C's in physics and still had successful cycles to US MD programs

This is why I don't frequent this site.

Jeez.
