Does it Really Matter if you decide to apply to medical school with a BA or BS degree? both are in the same field lets say biological sciences, chemistry and etc , obviously to obtain either degree you need to fulfill the pre- Requisites for medical school which are also core classes to obtain the degree, the difference is really in the Upper electives you decide to take, sorry for the long post

But does it really matter??

Thanks in Advance

Nope, doesn't matter at all. Nor does your major. Just do well. What will matter are your cGPA and science GPA.

It usually doesn't matter. Some of the old-school adcom reviewers may question earning a BA in one of the basic science fields (instead of a BS), but most adcoms members don't care. Obviously, this concern is probably going to be more prevalent at more elite schools.

I don't think it matters. Schools are somewhat random in their requirements to earn a BS rather than a BA anyway. In fact, when I graduated from Hopkins (not sure of the current status, but it's probably the same) a BS in biology was not even offered. You got a BA if you were a bio major, or nothing..... To get a BS, you had to be an engineering major. Your GPA and MCAt scores are much more important than whether or not you did a BA or a BS.
