Hey Folks,
Just wondering how residency programs handle it when a resident / their spouse has a kid. Are there maternity/paternity leaves like in the normal working world? Do you have to do additional residency work if you take one?

It's a factor that really effects quality of life, yet doesn't seem like a question to ask while on the interview trail.
