So basic background about myself. I have been working full time jobs and didn't take school seriously when i was younger but now i'm serious about it and back at school at age 27. I finished a majority of my prereqs for med school at city college but mostly got B's, C's with little to no studying. I still have a few classes for prereqs but want to get my gpa up which is at 2.9 right now. I was wondering what the best way to study is for these classes and be more efficient with my time. I feel like so much of my time is taken up studying that i have no social life or time for anything else. I really want to succeed and looking for some advice on how to be more efficient with my time and study harder not longer.

Literally every person here wishes to find ways to "study harder not longer". People are going to tell you things like focus on the big picture, try to understand not just memorize, or focus in class more, but come on you can find these tips in 2 minutes by searching on google and they are much easier said than done. Trying to get into med school is one of those things where a majority of people have to work harder and longer. In your case, you can't possibly expect to turn your 2.9 GPA into something respectable without breaking some eggs. You feel like you spend too much time studying and no time for social life? Welcome to the pre-med life.
