I have a question for anyone that may know. My school is requiring employment info so they can do a check to find out why i stopped working at certain jobs, if im eligable for rehire, my character, etc. I was fired from a job a few years ago for theft but they never charged me with anything. can the school find out about this and not accept me. I was never charged with anything and have no record.

did they tell you that they want to check and find out why you stopped working?? or you assumed that? you suppose to provide the info in the application, so its possible that they want the info to make your application complete.

well nowhere in any of my applications was I asked why I stopped working at a certain job. I was only asked the dates that I worked each job. And since I was never procecuted or reported by my work, I never had to mark yes to the criminal record questions. can I still get kicked out for this?

I'm sure your former employer would be AFRAID to mention anything negitive about you lest you sue them for defamation.

true. many corporate companies will only confirm when you worked for them (just the dates). i guess people have sued the company for giving a bad reference.

wow really? so they cant mention why i was fired? can they mention that i was fired or not?

they CAN! but many big companies try to avoid any potential legal problems and do not provide feedback, just the dates you worked.
