  1. Pre-Podiatry
I embarrassingly was convicted of a public intox 2 years ago. Fell asleep in the wrong place.

Also, when I was 18 I received a "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" for having a friend in my car who wasn't 18 out 10 min past curfew.

How badly will this hurt me? I'm not a bad person!

2.9 Overall GPA
3.0 Science GPA
This is final. I have graduated.
Big ten University
MCAT not taken (Yet)
No research in podiatry, but extensive research in a biology lab
Haven't shadowed Pods yet cause I'm afraid I don't have a chance

Thoughts?

P.S. are mathematics (ex calculus, pre-calc, college algebra... etc) considered in Science GPA?

read what you just wrote. are you serious????
deal with the mishaps and the law later. you havent followed a podiatrist or done anything to show any interest in it??? do that, take the mcats and then think about it.

podiatry is not the "joke" ( i use the term loosely) that it used to be. people choose this career because they want to. it is no longer the medical school wannabe rejects. I have a 3.5 science gpa, 28 MCAT, research, volunteering, college athletics, and 1 full year as a NA in a burn unit and lots of following of podiatrists. I have not and will not apply to other types of schools. There are others out there with better stats than me who are doing the same thing.

Think about what you are doing and why you want to do it.

good god, take a chill pill captain america.

Pickin Schools-

Shadow a pod or two... or three, however many it takes to assure ya its the career ya wanna pursue. 150k$+ and 7 years training is no joke, so dont put yourself through something youre not 100% enthused to do the rest of your life.

As you fill out the online application form theres a list somewhere of what constitutes sci-gpa. Math is not one of them however, i remember that. Perhaps upper level physics-math courses, i donno.

Those are pretty minor offenses in my opinion. My guess is that it wont effect your application. And where it asks for that kind of information on the application, just be honest and explain it. If it comes up in an interview, just be honest and explain it, even admission personnel were kids once too. **** happens.

with your stats and an mcat of 20+ youll get at least 3/8 interview invites, almost for sure. Take the mcat and apply asap though, pod schools have a rolling admissions.

chin up.
