How in depth can dental schools actually go as far as checking our background? Can they see things such as when and how long we left the country??

Ohh noo haha. I volunteered in Asia a couple of years back, but on my personal statement I said I went this summer. I had to in order to make it flow with my paper. Will they be able to check when and where I went??

What!? You ask this question for this!? I thought you had worked as a drug runner or something!? Get out of here!!😛 You can figure that out. If they found out you were in asia and you didn't mention that in your app will it kill you?? You figure out the answer.

No they won't be able to find out when and where you went as far as your travels are concerned. Background checks more or less checks for criminal, educational, or employment history. However, admitting that you twisted your tales around to make your story flow might not be advisable since people may begin to wonder what else you altered or might have made up.

To me, CIA agent has been the second-choice career. I will be killing two birds with one stone when I become dental student. 😀

Well dentistry does have legal application, i.e. forensics. Dental records are very useful in identifying who is dead or matching up people.
