bad to let the interviewer hold the door for you?

Want to hear a totally messed up door story?

I was waiting outside the office of an interviewer, who was interviewing another applicant. When they finished, the door opened, the applicant walked out, and the interviewer said hi to me. Usually that means "it's your turn, come in", so I walked up (into his office) and was about to begin shaking hands with him and introducing myself. But instead, I found him reaching for the door. Since I was already in the office, I thought he wanted to close the door, so I said "I got it" and closed it behind me.

But it turned out that he wanted to close the door so he could get the chair behind that door. While I stood there totally confused, he grabbed the chair, opened the door again, put the chair outside, and said to me:"If you don't mind, please sit in that chair and wait, I need a few more minutes."

😱😱😱

So I was evicted from the office, and it took 15mins for that door to open again. And for the remainder of the interview I didn't ever again touch that door.

It goes like this: If one is to truly believe in gender equality, it's ridiculous to hold the door open for one gender and not another, especially since the gesture may suggest that women are less capable of opening doors.
this is only the case if you're some kind of feminazi. it's just a way of being polite. I hold the door for men, women, children.. and I appreciate it when they do the same for me.

Similar thing happened to me. Walked in and was immediately shown the door. 😳 15 minutes later, the interview started, and was done 15 minutes after that.
