Hey all,

So I'm signed up for the MCAT on May 22nd. I'm taking a Kaplan class right now that started earlier this week to help me prepare for it. The Kaplan class is very fast paced and it expects a lot of the content review being done before class which is sometimes around 12 chapters of reading. That coupled with a medium class load can make it hard to intently read the chapters. I scored a 488 on my Kaplan diagnostic so I have plenty of practice I need to do in this time. How is everyone else handling their content review with coursework thrown in the mix as well? I would like to take notes from the chapters but it just doesn't seem feasible with other responsibilities. I was looking at watching the Khan Academy videos as well and try to take notes with them.

I had the same problem, I had to change to a once/week Kaplan class bc it was insanity reading 600 pages every few days and trying to recall all that info within seconds when needed on a question. I also haven't taken Biochemistry so that hasn't help at all either.

Check out my thread! I have fit all the content review you need in order to do well on the new MCAT in 53 days. I too am going to be busy during my MCAT studying and I feel like you may benefit from it too! Tell me what you think! (Btw, I'm using the EK series as my main source of content review)

Thanks for your schedule! So it looks like my books have twice as many chapters as the EK so I can double the amount of chapters I read per day. Do you have any approach towards getting better in CARS?

No problem, and yeah you should definitely invest in Examkrackers! After all, doing practice passages and learning from your mistakes is way more important than knowing every little detail learned during content review. Hmm for CARS, the only way to get better is by doing 2-3 passages per day until test day. The best materials out there are EK 101 Verbal, Princeton review hyper learning verbal workbook, Testing soutions verbal, and next step verbal strategy and practice book. And also most importantly, PDFs of past aamc exams if you have access to them! I got a 10 on the old MCAT verbal section by doing that 🙂 good luck!
