Hey Guys, I was thinking about taking out a bank loan so that I could have some money to help me get on my feet since I will be relocating to another city. Financial Aid does not come in until Fall. So I have some questions. Which bank should i choose? How do I apply for a bank loan? Should I talk to a representative at the bank? How much higher are interest rates for bank loans compared to government loans? Thanks

You would probably stand a better chance applying for a few credit cards and paying them off once you get your financial aid. It will be hard to get a bank loan without collateral.

I work at a Credit Union, and as far as rates, just call several banks or credit unions in your area and they'll tell you their signature loan rates. Or just check the website. You can usually apply online or over the phone. And the rates are usually in the 8%-15% range depending on your credit score.
