Hey guys, I just received my follow on assignment after the AEGD-1 Residency. I was just wondering if anyone out there had any info on the area surrounding Barksdale afb (places to live, activities, etc...) Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I lived the past 8 years in Ruston just an hour from Barksdale. It's right near Bossier city/Shreveport and there's lots of stuff to do in the area. North Louisiana is very military friendly and if you enjoy the outdoors, there are tons of great areas to fish/hunt not too far outside the urban areas.
