I am reviewing the beginning of Path right now and am wondering if doing the questions in the Robbins Review book for the basic path questions is a must or is my time better spent on something else. Is most of the basic path on step wrapped into an organ based question or do they ask you questions specifically about necrosis, neoplasia etc.?

Just use Kaplan q-bank for questions. It is more like the type of questions on the actual exam.

I disagree with the first answer on this posting.

I found the Robbins Review book to be the strongest question source for Pathology questions, bar none. Specifically, I had a very heavy Step I in terms of basic pathology (inflammation, immune responses, clotting pathway mechanisms, neoplasia, apoptosis, necrosis, etc.), and I thought the book prepared me very, very well.

I'd definitely do them. The first 7 chapters in BRS Pathology are also outstanding for this aspect of studying.

Thanks! I will do them. I am loving the Robbins Review books so far so it is good to hear that it is such a good Step question source.
