I'm sorry, I know this question has been asked a million times, but what classes must I have completed prior to taking the DAT?

I want to take the DAT this fall. By then I would have completed Bio1&2, Ochem1&2, GChem1&2, Physics 1&2(even thought it's not covered). While I have read on these forums that it is useful to take biochem and physio prior to taking the DAT, I'm wondering, has anyone on here just taken the basic pre-req sciences and done well on the DAT?

Yes take biochem and physio. You'll be more prepared and you'll understand things much better.

I only had completed the basic prereqs before taking the DAT, I think I did okay.

I want to give you advice from experience. I was going through KBB bio section and most of the physio stuff were just words to me. Luckily I wasn't taking the DAT soon. Before taking physio, I was trying to memorize my flashcards and I couldn't handle because I couldn't understand what I was trying to memorize. I'm currently taking physio, half way through, and i'm going over my flashcards today and everything actually has meaning to it and I actually understand and don't have to memorize any of it anymore. Now I can focus on stupid **** like taxonomy lol. Trust me!

Physio will definitely help you in DAT Bio section. Biochem will help you during the first year of Dental school when you are in fact taking it.

You have already taken enough classes for the DAT. Study hard and don't get caught up in taking upper levels at the expense of postponing the DAT or forgetting stuff you learned in gen bio and gen chem. I am a firm believer in taking the DAT ASAP after you finish the basic pre-reqs.

Correct me if I'm mistaken White Fang, but didn't you take the DAT before taking O-Chem 2 and manage a 27 or something for the Ochem portion? I only bring this up because you are probably the best person so answer this question (having been in that position not too long ago, but still succeed in a VERY impressive way!)

@ OP: Really don't worry. You have enough classes under your belt. DAT doesn't test any upper div level concepts. Math only goes up until Precalculus. Bio is until intro bio. Gen chem is intro chem and O-Chem is Ochem 1+2 in college. Everything is pretty shallow. Just make sure you do enough practice and you'll do well. Your challenge won't be feeling "good" about concepts, it'll be managing school and studying for the DAT. Good luck!
