Hey everybody!
Well hopefully people are getting good news and acceptance to the Occupational Therapy schools of their dreams!!
I was wondering if anybody was for sure going to Bay Path College and if so what they were planning on doing about housing? I would love to look into getting a roomate in the same program, it would make the cost of living way more affordable! And would make some some friends in the meantime!!

Hello, congrats! 🙂 I will also be in the MOT 2012 cohort at Bay Path. I have visited the school, as well as received info about graduate housing by emailing the graduate admissions director, Lynn George. She is very nice and helpful via email and also in person about any questions you may have.
There is some on campus housing for female graduate students only, since the undergrads are all female. Most of this housing is in a dorm setting, shared rooms, and more expensive and limited availability if you want a single room (on campus housing for female grads with a shared room is about $11,000/ per school year including laundry ). If this is your preferred option, I believe graduate housing is more limited and first come first serve.
I was also told there are apartment complexes near by in Entin, CT that graduate students rent from. From what I saw these looked to be about $1000-$1500/mo for studios/one bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments.
Another option is renting a room in a house around the area. This appears to me to be the most affordable option. Also, locals in many college town areas prefer renting to professional adults and/or graduate students.

Hello, I was accepted and will be attending Bay Path as well. Housing around the area as far as apartments go are on the expensive side. I'm moving to Massachusetts from out of state and have furnishings, etc so dorms are out. They mostly only have dorms for undergrads anyway. I am possibly looking for a roommate. If anyone is looking for one too, just let me know.

Hi guys,
I am also attending baypath in the fall for the OT Masters program and looking for housing with one other friend who is most likely attending Baypath as well ... we are happy to look into houses with others in the program too. Please be in touch if anyone finds anything good!!
My name is kaitlyn and you can email me at [email protected] if youd like to get in touch!
Thanks

Hey guys! So I'm a transfer student from AIC that started the MOT program at Baypath in the Spring of 2012, so I'll be taking most of the 1st year courses in the Fall with you guys. I know how annoying it can be to find housing, especially when you're from a different state. I'm currently in the process of signing a lease at Meadowhouse Apartments in Agawam. $575 all inclusive. Can't beat that! I would also recommend Bigelow commons in Enfield. There's also a lot in West Springfield.

If anyone has specific questions about the school/program let me know. I would also suggest making a group on FB for the 2012 cohort.

Ummmm, all you people giving out your personal information, please be mindful as there are some lurkers here who may use your information in a negative way.

Also, you may want to just keep a running email going on between those attending in the fall, instead of on FB or other avenue which your information could be more public.

Lastly, faculty and staff occasionally peep in on these threads and while you may not be posting anything negative, sites like these give them pause.

PM each other if you want to communicate offline but don't put yourpersonal information (name, email, giveaway usernames) on here like that.

Am I going to need a car cause I'm coming from out of state? I'm trying to find housing.

I rented a place The Courtyard in West Springfield $685 a month. I found a roomie but she never came through so I'm on my own. This has been way more stressful than when I did this for my bachelors. I don't feel Bay Path College gives much assistance with this process but I'm glad this part is over and I'm safe during my MOT. I wish you all well with the housing!

Hey guys!

I will be attending Bay Path in the fall for OT as well. I am from out of state, and am very unfamiliar with the area. I've been looking into apartments mostly in Springfield. I am definitely interested in finding a roommate though! If anyone is interested let me know. Or if anyone has any helpful input on where else to look for apartments it would be much appreciated!

Thanks🙂

I got a small 2 bedroom with someone in east longmeadow we are paying 400 each plus utilities split. I suggest to try roommates.com that is where I found mine she is coming from South Dakota and I'm coming from Texas, you do have to pay but it is worth it. I wasn't getting much feedback any other way, and in a matter of about 4 days we found a small duplex in longmeadow and signed a lease. We had to do it all online since we are not in longmeadow right now, we talked on the phone as we went through the process we were able to apply and pay on the apartment website. If your coming from out state like we both are a lot of apartments and landlords have a way to apply and pay on the apartment website. We signed for a year and will do one more year together and than leave. I found someone in May didn't want to wait to last minute. I would figure out what your doing soon and not wait around to long everything will be taken.

Now we are trying to figure out furnishings we are going to get inexpensive used furniture and we are going to split on an affordable tv and kitchenware, bean bag chairs, used kitchen table and chairs etc..we are both using a futon bed they are affordable. Our place may not be the most lovely in decor but we would have kept the cost low, we will have salvation army come pick up any furniture when we leave, easy process that way.
