Has anybody been invited for an interview yet??

HD
i talked to the contact for the progam the other day and she said that the committee has not even met yet -

the brochure said all applicants would be notified on april 27 which is less than 2 weeks away - so i imagine that they met today or will meet early next week so that they can make decisions and extend interviews..

basically the program is a year of extra classes at UNT in Denton, Texas and if you maintain a 3.25 GPA you are guaranteed a spot in Baylor Dental's class starting 2006....

They've already begun their first batch of interviews.

My best friend just got one.

I'd say that was a pretty good source, considering I was there when she got the phone call.

A 3.25 guarentees admission? Where have I been and why did I not know about this program?

Sounds interesting. I wish I knew this last year, I would have applied.

what do you mean "man WTF?" ?? i was just asking how the person knew interviews had began - i was told they hadn't...and yes, gold_crown, i agree that your source is pretty good :)

anyways, here is a link for the program -

http://www.tambcd.edu/stddev/postbac/postbac.html

it's from last year but all the info is pretty much the same...
My comments were not geared toward you. Considering that I had just called Baylor post bac office, in which they stated that they were not meeting yet to decide interviews.

Does anybody know how they decide on applicants to interview, do you have to be a minority?

I attended the Baylor SPEP last year, and we took DAT Prep and Human Body courses(Biochemistry, Anatomy, Neuro, etc.) with the post bacc students. You don't have to be a minority in order to apply, in fact, the participants last year were not minorities. It is competitive, but worth the struggle. You get about 3 chances to take the DAT, in which to score an 18, maintain a 3.25 at UNT with the help of a strong group of dedicated advisors, and you are paid $1440 a month for each of the 10 months you are in school. Also, the students got together and gave a presentation in front of faculty, peers, and UNT advisors.

I would encourage all to apply. Having spent last summer at Baylor, I can attest that the school is great and the programs are even better. Take care and GOD Bless.
