Congrats to you all who got the interview invites! I turned mine in mid February and my LOR was in by early March...hopefully they invite people for interviews by the dates they received the applications:xf:

I indeed got offered an interview!! Im am going April 6th, 9am!! I didnt get any interviews when I applied last year to dental school 🙁, so Im not so sure how the interview process is like but I am just so thankful that they actually looked at my application, I doubt it got looked at last year when I was applying to all three schools.....lets just say my grades could not compete with everyone elses. Good luck everyone!! There is still hope!! When I called they still had available times so Im guessing they havent finished making their calls yet! 🙂

Good luck guys... went through the Postbac program a couple of summers ago. Any questions let me know.
 
I did not complete my application late, but I am very hopeful that I can still get an interview. I was told that the number of applications were ~50, but I am not sure when that was. I am still hoping for the best. I know that just because someone got an interview they are not automatically in. Not hating on anyone, but for as long as they are still reviewing applicants, i still have a chance! Good luck to all.
 
Howdy guys! I was wondering if anyone who has been through the Post Bacc Program would so nice as to share how the interview process was like....

And I believe they bring in about 26 applicants...thats what I read from another post. 🙂

How was the interview process like? What were the main questions being asked? I read you meet with three different panels or people.....for 10 min each.....was it like that?

I emailed Natasha and she said that the committee is still in the selection process, so hopefully there will be more phone calls going out this week 🙂
 
only 3 have reported receiving interview offers on SDN. does anyone know how many offers have gone out?

offers are being sent 2 wks ahead of the interview date. the deadline is april 16th. if we dont get an offer this week, i guess it's over
 
I really hate this waiting game!!!

BTW, I was reading some other posts and figured out that the first interviews were offered to those who applied to PBP previously.

I was wondering if those who got the interview invites were the people who also have applied in the previous year????

Any inputs will be appreciated👍

I dont know how they pick and choose who to invite, but if it gives you any insight I applied last year but didn't get an interview. However, I applied super late last year, like two days before the deadline 🙄 so that was probably a major factor. This year I made sure to get my app in early and luckily got an invite.

Anyways, best of luck to you and I hope you hear something soon! 🙂
 
Howdy kb723! I just wanted to let you know that I applied this year and received an interview invite and this is my first year applying to the pbp. But I also sent my completed application in on January 25th....Im not sure if the date has anything to do with the interview invites or not but Im thinking that it does..I wish you the best of luck and I hope that you get an invite, i think someone above said that their still inviting peep so good luck!!!

yea I also recently learned about the UTD's biomed cert. program and it's my plan B if I have no luck with the PBP… It seems to best fit my needs… but let’s hope for that call from baylor since this week isn’t over yet:xf:

Ok I have no idea whats going on lol, all I know is... I havent been called yet, and no idea why. I dont really feel like going to Plan B. This actually was my Plan B, so I guess I dont feel like going on to Plan C lol so I hope I hear something soon ... They should interview atleast half of the total applicants... Good Luck to all of us!

W00tz, I have a few friends who've done the program in the past and all of them have been URMs (and they said their peers also were all URMs).

I've heard that it mimics the post bacc program and I have had some friends who have done the biomedical certificate and had success with entering one of the texas dental schools the following application cycle.

i got interviewed by 3 faculty members, from what i know dr lacy was supposed to be the hardest, but i think since i knew that going in, she was actually the easiest for me.
there was 3 other students who were scheduled to interview at the same time as me, so each of us went to one faculty memeber and after about 7-ish minutes of an interview you rotated to the next faculty member
i got asked several times what my backup plan was, like what will you do if your not accepted into post bac
also know WHY you want to be in post bac, what makes it different from just taking more classes on your own 🙂

So has anyone been accepted into the program yet???? I haven't heard anything and the deadline is soon approaching. I'm thinking that they already have their picks now, but I could be wrong.
 
Howdy yall!! Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes and good luck its been a really busy past few days!! Sooooo its officially the Thursday after the interviews...... Has anyone else been having sleepless nights or am I the only one?Im SUPER nervous and I hope that we hear something soon, it seems like from the past years everyone heard something on the Thursday following the interviews.....sooooo if anyone hears ANYTHING please post and put us out of our misery!!! I hope yall are having an awesome week so far!!

Ok cool cool!! My parents live in Arlington but I feel like 30-40 mins is too long of a commute, so I think im going to go with the housing that they offer its only 6-8 wks in the summer lol so I think it should be ok!! I cant wait to meet you guys either we're going to have such an awesome group!!

Howdy Mkling!! Im thinking of taking classes at UTD cause its closer to the dental school and im not really into the idea of moving multiple times...Plus one of the admissions committee said that they thinks UTD is a little better at preparing people for dental school!! Where are you thinking about going??

They told me the same thing about UTD so I will probably take the classes there. Just need to figure out where to live during the semester.

Hey guys,

Took me a while to check back, busy at work 🙂 Congrats to everybody!!

I most likely will stay in the housing they provide. I have a sister that lives in Garland but I don't feel like I want to mess with that much traffic in the mornings if I have to drive in. And as far as the academic year goes I'm wanting to do UTD. I only want to move once so finding somewhere between UTD and Baylor would be great!

I feel like it is going to be a great year! 🙂

Congrats to those of you who got in! They had UNT and UTD come present to us to help us choose which school we liked. Most of us actually ended up going to UNT with about 4-5 going to UTD. Try to stick together, it's nice to go to class with the people you will be spending a lot of time with so you can get bonding, you will become great friends. Also, take a peek at some DAT stuff between now and when school starts, we had to take a full-lenth practice DAT on our first day, plus it's good to start studying, July or August will be here soon enough and you will have to take your test again. See ya'll this summer!
