Baylor PostBac Program

I didn't apply to Baylor's Post-Bac since I'm not a Texas resident. But I applied to Creighton's Pre-Dental Post-Bac and received an interview for February 22nd.

I was just about to ask if we needed to request an official DAT score report or just take a pic of the score sheet we got and mail it to Ms. Sneed.

I had the same question! Did you find out if we could? I would hate to pay extra $ just to get an official report.
 
I really hope that yall are from a poor economic background and dental underserved area.

I just scanned the DAT score sheet I got and sent it in. Natasha said it was okay. 🙂

I found out that my area was under served. I also am a first generation student and english is my second language if that helps?

Do you have a backup in case you don't get into this post bac program?
 
Lol. I got accepted into Barry's 1-year BMS program but I do NOT want to move to Florida...that's always an option but I most likely will just stay in Texas.

I graduated from SMU last May (2013) and am doing Post-Bacc classes at UTD right now. If Baylor's Post-Bacc doesn't work out I'll most likely continue to take more classes at UTD again next year. Baylor is really just looking for more upper level Bio classes. What is your backup?

I totally understand! You just can't beat Texas tuition!
I will most likely enroll at a local university near home and take upper division bio classes there (since it's so much cheaper than my current school).
You are right. Baylor LOVES the upper division bio classes and the volunteer work. Someone said that if you take all those upper division classes and get mainly A's and a few B's, Baylor is more likley to give an interview.
 
Is this the only thread up for those applying to this program for 2014-2015? I can't seem to find any other threads for it at the moment. Anyways, let's keep each other posted! I called Natasha a few days ago to see if they will start giving out interviews before the March 3rd deadline (since they started reviewing apps Feb. 17th) or after, and she said they'll start calling after March 3rd. I'm not sure if that means 7-10 days after or exactly on the day.

For sure! I remember my friend (who is current in the program now) said that he was interviewed the week after March 3rd which was spring break.
Btw. When they said they will let us know of our status by March 21, what does that mean?
 
I can confirm firsthand that they were reviewing apps on 2/17, but had the chance to go through the program last year. Thorough curriculum at UT Dallas, but overall a great program.

It means that they will notify us on whether we've been accepted/rejected by March 21st.
 
anyone also look into the seperate UTD post bac? I heard that they guarantee 2 texas interviews if you maintain certain stats...but need confirmation on that.
 
Hi fellow Txns, I am applying to the BCD PBP as well. I've gotten all my transcripts in, finished questionaires & PBP primary application, and my rec letter is on its way. Is there anything else that needs to be done to complete the application? Have you guys called to confirm the completion?

From what I understand, just monitor your status. Like check to make sure they receive everything. If anything comes up, you should email Ms. Natasha Sneed. She is really helpful.

This was during the summer of 2012. When I start my own Post Bacc at UTD in Fall of 2013, I found out that they actually decided to keep the program alive. If they haven't made any changes to it from 2012, then yes, they will guarantee 2 interviews at I believe BCD and UTHSCSA. It seems to be a good program, I know a couple of people who completed it and were successful in gaining admission afterwards.

It says to finish the program, you gotta have 3.30 or above. I did post-bacc at UTD, did better than 3.30, but didn't get interview from BCD&UTHSCSA.
 
To get an automatic interview there's a GPA requirement, I believe it's a 3.75 or 3.8...I could be a little off, though.

I haven't...have they already started calling???
 
I got the interview invite call last week! They are interviewing next week.

I had everything in by Valentine's day but my last letter of rec wasn't received until last friday.
 
Yeah of course! They pretty much told me that I was chosen for an interview and that they will be interviewing March 11th and 12th (I believe). She asked which day would be better and what time (8am or 1pm).

Do you know how the interview process will go? Like do you think it will be similar to an actual dental school interview?
 
No problem, and I'm pretty sure its treated like an actual dental school interview.

When did they call you?
 
I also applied to the program, I'm really nervous!!! i sent my application feb 16th
 
Are the only interview dates on March 11th and 12th? I'm assuming that if we dont get a call this week, we are out of the running?
 
I called Natasha today and she said that around 290 students applied and they will be calling for interviews through next week. I can't imagine they will only interview for 2 days...
 
They interview for only two days because there are only less than 20 students being accepted.
 
I'm not sure if those are the only two interview days but those were the dates I was offered.
 
Natasha did mention to us about a status update on March 21st. Maybe that day will tell us if we have gotten in or not?

Yes, that's when we know that there if we do get in or not. So you should be expecting an interview around this time.
 
I see.
If thats the case, if we dont get a call this week we are done. lol
 
Anyone here got a call this week? I called Ms.Sneed today and she said interview call could be made out after 11th and 12th.
