For the Baylor secondary essay, it says to "Indicate any special experiences, unusual factors or other information which you feel would be helpful in evaluating you". Is this part optional? Is it like the optional essay on the TMDSAS app where you only fill it out if you've had extenuating circumstances that may compromise your application?

I was thinking about explaining my motivation to go into medicine further, but was unsure if this was what they wanted.

Thanks.

don't leave it blank. There's a thread about this. do a search on Baylor secondary essay

Besides, this is the kind of the essay that is good for recycling over and over again for your other secondaries.

Agreed. Many of the schools I've filled out secondaries for so far have gotten little snippets of Baylor's essay since I submitted it so early. 😉

Don't leave it blank ... they're basically giving you the opportunity to explain WHY they should pick you over the thousands of other applicants. Leaving it blank would look kind of lazy.

Good luck! 👍
