I am currently a senior with a 3.8 GPA and 20 on my DATs. I applied in October for the 2007 class to BU,Tufts,Harvard,Baylor,UT houston and UTSA. I didnt get Houston,Baylor,Harvard interviews as they told me I applied too late. I got the other 3 interviews.
I am accepted to BU Dental and waitlisted at Tufts.I never heard anything from SanAntonio still. I have a 3-yr long relationship with my boyfriend who lives in Dallas, my parents live in Dallas but I go to school in Boston for undergrad. I wanted to move back to Tx so i would pay state tuition and be with my boyfriend.
I dont know if I should defer my acceptance at BU for a year and apply this may to tx schools and see hwat happens or should i just go to BU and take out a $80K loan vs a $30K loan if I went to TX. Please help me. I know I am a good student and I can get in but I am very confused. My parents are no help because they have no background.

If you didn't get accepted to any other schools go to BU. I wouldn't wait a year to reapply if I already had an acceptance.

I would wait for another year and apply again... go live with your boyfriend and family, u deserve it...one year wouldn't even count in your whole life buddy

If you are committed to each other you can wait out 4 years. Take BU.

I would apply again ONLY IF YOU CAN APPLY AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.

I say this because your stats definitely look competitive for texas standards. You should get into baylor, easy, provided you can interview decently well.

the title of this thread should be BU vs. Nobody. you have 1 acceptance, GO and don't look back. everyone knows boyfriends/girlfriends are temporary..

jb!🙂

I'm in a similar situation. I was interviews at houston and baylor, but have not heard anything from either one yet (I'm a texas res. too). Anyways, I've been accepted to a few schools and actually have a deposit down at NYU at this point. If i don't get into texas, I plan on going out of state to either NYU or BU (If they accept me). For me, I just did not want to lose that year of my life (I"m already 24). Your case is much more difficult however b/c you have sig. other to think about, but definitely think hard if it's worth the wait. Nothing feels worse than just waiting for the next step of life to begin, especially when you know you could have done something about it.

What a year and go to a Texas school (preferably Baylor). You'll get in - plus you'll be with your family and boyfriend - plus you'll save a TON of money!
