BCP vs Science GPA
Started by ItalianPrincess
What is the difference between BPC and Science GPA?? I havent started applications yet and have been seeing both on the site.
BCP is only Bio, Chem, Physics
Sci is those three plus any math, geology, or other science. Computer sci doesn't count.

Why doesn't computer science count as a science... that's odd... isn't computer science just a sub branch of mathematics. In my school computer science is offered by math department are you sure about this...

It didn't count for me, they stopped counting it a few years ago, or used to count it randomly. Trying to figure out the thinking of AADSAS is like trying to have a conversation with a dog, an exercise in futility.

Even if the course has math in the title it still doenst count?...
I have over 60 credits worth of computer science courses... out of them ~21 credits are programming and the rest are pure mathematics so they dont count...
AADSAS does stuff on a case to case basis, sometimes you can get them to change something. I'd say you could call them, but I really wouldn't be certain that the answer you would get today would apply next year. Maybe some Comp Sci majors on here or people who took a bunch of Comp Sci courses could tell you if they got it to count. For me they classified it as non-science, but I only had 1 course, but I had an A in it so it would have been nice if it counted.
So I'm an anthro and psych minor and have taken behavioral genetics, neuropsychology, human osteology and pharmacology all with psych or anthro prefixes...would those go into my science gpa?
also why does math count as a science??

So how exactly do human osteology and pharm fit into the anthropology category? So I'm an anthro and psych minor and have taken behavioral genetics, neuropsychology, human osteology and pharmacology all with psych or anthro prefixes...would those go into my science gpa?
Haha yeah, I wondered this tooalso why does math count as a science??
Wait so..when people say Science GPA, I include my Precal, Calc, Calc 2?
And if I take geology I include that too?
Edit:
And my chem, physics, orgo, bio obv.

human osteology counted for anthro because if you were going into archeology you'd need to be able to identify bones and pharmacology was acutally a psych class which extended the material further into drugs' effects on the brain
