BCPM Question

I did some searching and couldn't find definitive answers:

Has AACOMAS counted Exercise Physiology and similar courses from an ESS department (exercise and sport science) as BCPM according to past experiences? AMCAS told me it is based on course description and I should be fine, but I am not very familiar with the osteopathic route (I am currently diving in and converting a lot of my spreadsheets to have osteopathic stats).

Any help is greatly appreciated. ^_^

I contacted AACOMAS about a month ago with the same question. Here is what their response was:

"thank you for contacting AACOAMS! Yes, Kinesiology is calculated under the
"Other Science" GPA is it is totaled with your science GPA at the end. I should
also mention that even if you graduated or the courses were offered under the
Kinesiology department it does not necessarily mean all your courses will have
a subject of Kinesiology. Really AACOMAS bases the course subjects off the
course title first and then they take account the prefix if the title was too
broad enough. If you would like more information to which subjects would get

That is super good to know! Good news, really ^_^

Also, I'm unsure about another course now really looking at my stuff. All of my research courses are listed under PED (pediatrics) and were attached to my school's hospital/med school. Since the prefix of PED isn't a normal one, how would they look at that?

Clinical Research Methods & Practice
Clinical Research Methods
Research in Progress

I think it should be fine but prepping for my first application cycle is getting me a little neurotic and I'm wanting to make sure I don't make a big mistake when trying to figure out my sGPA. I need everything I can take to help boost that thing up to something that can be thought of as slightly competitive lol

I feel your pain lol. I am not applying until next year so I haven't gotten a chance to look at the apps, but I would assume those would go under "other science." I could be wrong, but I think your safest bet would be to email AACOMAS with the exact course title/descriptions to get their input!
