yes, I'm selling my 2013 study materials: pdf, mp3, mp4 for $150. just passed my 2014 fall exam. you will be paying through paypal.. let me know if you are interested
Just a thought. I borrowed the study material from a couple years ago so I don't have anything to sell, but I did also use High-Yield Med Reviews question bank. I have also heard some great things about the lectures, but I thought the Q-bank was really helpful for the detail stuff. It was worth the money for me (I passed, btw).Hi guys, I am planning to take The certification sometime next year. Wondering if someone is interested in selling their used study material? Thanks

Well I really feel it's a good way of refreshing concepts after being in retail for years now. And it gives you a suffix to your name😉 it's an expensive refresher I agree!
Studying for BCPS will make you a better pharmacist. It's becoming more a standard for hospitals to expect it. It was free since most employers will pay for it. Or give you a raise.
Sure...they need their fees
BCPS is such a scam...what a useless way to spend your money. Because of all the idiots that bought into this garbage early on, now everyone feels the need to have one.
My employer pays for it and I get some extra $$ if I pass soooo....yay me.
Hmm didn't know about $$ raise. I work in outpatient hospital setting , don't think they ll care for a raise in a retail setting. Do you guys work inpatient ???
our employer pays for the test only if we pass (I did - it was acutally fairly easy) - but not the annual fee or for the CE's. But when I go for renewel they will pay again, so I guess I won't do the CE's and just do the renewel testMy employer pays for it and I get some extra $$ if I pass soooo....yay me.

why would you take it in a retail setting?Hmm didn't know about $$ raise. I work in outpatient hospital setting , don't think they ll care for a raise in a retail setting. Do you guys work inpatient ???
I work inpatient. Our system recently removed the pay incentive for BCPS but it is still the expectation to get it. It is a scam but with so many people having the certification it could be a disadvantage to not have it if you want to move or advance.
Correct. This is a scam but since so many idiots have taken this up; it is now expected. Same thing with PGY1, when it first came out, then PGY2....and now presenting (drum roll please....).....PGY3.
Might help me getting into inpatient!? Also as I stated earlier .. Quick refresher( expensive , lots of effort and time , I know)!why would you take it in a retail setting?

Unfortunately for you when a JCAHO surveyor also an MD recommends pharmacists get board certified, I would.

Meh, everyone who has taken the exam has passed.

Well the potential for blowing $600 on failing is a pretty good motivator.
The exam isn't necessary by any means, but if you're incentivized through work (extra pay/CE pay) then it makes sense.
Otherwise...why bother? Outpatient/retail candidates won't really gain an advantage is changing settings IMO, there are other overriding factors.
Except the BPS reported a 57% pass rate for the spring exam. What would we say about a school with a 57% first time pass rate on the NAPLEX? Of course, we don't have any idea how many of the passes were first time and how many were repeats on the BCPS.Meh, everyone who has taken the exam has passed.

It's a scam anyways..my point still stands.

The test is a test, don't blame the test, blame the wide-eyed test takers who take it for the wrong reasons.
It's like going to NYC and blaming the hustlers and not the people playing 3 card monte in the subway stations.

Now what may these 'WRONG 'reasons be??The test is a test, don't blame the test, blame the wide-eyed test takers who take it for the wrong reasons.

Thinking it'll magically elevate and mask one's CV when, at its core, it lacks applicable clinical experience.
It's like putting vanilla frosting on a pile of poo.
Meh, everyone who has taken the exam has passed.
I know several clinical pharmacists who have taken the exam more than once and have failed. It can't be that easy. At least I hope not! I haven't taken myself.
