Hey everyone,

I am a 4th-year (5-year program) BDS student from Syria, and a US resident of the United States.

Due to the current situation in Syria, I don't think that I can make it to continue my education there to graduate..

Does any of you have an idea about a dental school abroad that accepts me as a transfer student that I can obtain my BDS then transfer to the DDS in the USA through an IDP?

Or any other suggestions, I would be grateful to hear..
Many thanks in advance..

I think you need to apply for IDP,but you did not graduate yet.You can send e- mails to some schools, they would be able to help you.

Thank you Sadaf,
I have tried a lot to contact dental schools, and the only suggestion was to apply as an undergraduate all over again from scratch..

Hi Basha00
Yes you will have to complete your school to be able to apply to US dental schools. But have you given a though of transferring your credits to another university for eg. in Egypt or Iran? They might be able to help you to at least finish your undergrad degree.
Afterwards you can apply to US dental schools for the IDP program to validate it in the US.
I think you can start calling those universities as they are closer to Syria.
Hope that helps.
Tk.

If you can get credit for your past years of education that is good for you, otherwise i would suggest,if you can,Finish your studies there so Atleast you would have your degree in your hand to apply for DDS.
