I thought the number would have been lower (10-15%). I have a hard time believing that 40% of the country can not save themselves from 1k emergency spending when everyone has iPhone 15/16.

They are just rolled into the monthly payments with some promo credit. No one is buying the phones outright. They just upgrade and continue the process. I have an iphone 11 which i bought took used from a family member instead of letting them "trade" it in for $50
