Did anyone compare these two options to see which is more relevant for the board? My institution is considering buying one for the residents and is unsure if one is more beneficial than the other.

Is any of them offering coupons?

mypsychboard is a great source of questions with difficulty that tends to be a bit harder than BTB/some of the other question banks

My psych board is great question bank with videos similar to that in the board exam

PRITE is very important in our program. They do not allow moonlighting if you score below a certain point.

Yes, BTB has a group discount coupon. You just have to put your name on the list. Mypsychboard posts coupons on FB
Do you have a link to the BTB discount group list? I would like to join in!

There is another link for BTB and people are adding their name. They have the course for half price off if you are part of the subscription group. MyPsychBoard posted a coupon on psych network Facebook group for 30 percent off using MBP30OFF. I decided to try both for the board.

Do you know where the link is?

Did you try their PRITE Question bank?
I did not do their prite q bank. I learned about mypsychboard ABPN q bank during last year of residency from the prior batch of residents who took the test.

My program purchased mypsychboard for us to help with board prep. The Questions are good and up to date but I prefer BTB more due to their lectures.

Why anyone would pay for a PRITE qb is beyond me. The exam doesn't have any real meaning unless there's a program requirement and PRITE Ninja is free and pretty comprehensive anyway...
The only reason is that some programs require a good a PRITE score to allow moonlighting

Why dabble around? Just get Resident Genius on the Psychiatry Genius website for PRITE prep. it's like the gold standard. Covers everything in great detail. My friends in other programs their entire residency signed them up.

I attend one of those programs, I still don't understand why someone would pay for a bank specifically for PRITE when PRITE Ninja is available and there are so many other Qbanks for boards available.

Mypsychboard was a God sent! It reminded me of how good UW was helpful in passing the USMLE.

I second that. I have been scoring 55 percent in mypsychboard. Not sure if that is enough to pass the real thing

Beat The Boards is not worth it. Their question bank is not like the exam whatsoever. Lectures also throw 4 years worth of residency information at you, most of which is irrelevant. You can learn this by doing questions. Highest yield remains old PRITE, K&S, and Board Vitals IMO

I took my test last year and used spiegel for questions and Mypsychboard. Both are phenomenal and will make you pass first time. Some people like to use lectures from other sources but I found them slow and boring.

No body brought this up yet and it's not one of the 2 being talked about, but I found Psychiatry Genius to have questions that looked very very close to the board exam I took. It was like people who work there wrote some of the board questions. It was uncanny. Just my two cents to help someone out.
I did the vignette section and q bank from psych genius. It’s good practice but nowhere near the quality of Mypsychboard and spiegel.

How did it go? Did you pass? Lol. I'm getting around 68% on mypsychboards, but been trying to mentally focus on the content and not the percentage.

Im gonna raw dog the exam in September. No studying, no materials. I did fine on PRITEs.

Im writing it down here to let you all know how it goes. Study banks are a waste of money - and I'll try to prove it.

My bet is that you'll do fine. I found the exam kind of enjoyable. It wasn't horrifically stressful like the Steps. There are dumb questions, but I do kind of agree that I'm not sure more prep will help you with poorly worded questions.

I'll slightly counter this. Study banks are going to be highly variable in terms of actually learning material in an organized manner. They are good for getting back into the groove of test taking and building stamina to be able to sit for 6-8 hours of questions though.

Beat the boards is too much information. What you have learnt in residency + past PRITES / PRITE ninja is sufficient.

That is unfortunate. PRITE is not a good way to determine how you will do on the boards unfortunately. It is too outdated.

How much is the Beat the Boards with group discount? I am trying to figure out how much I need to reserve of my educational funds.

You do not need either of these resources to pass the boards. None of my cohort used them. Some people studied with ninja prite (which is free). Some used Spiegel's book. I used nothing and did not study. Everyone passed. Gauge how much you need to study based on how you did on your PGY4 PRITE.

Can you expand on this further? For quite some time the scores on PRITE had quite a strong correlation to passing boards. Have you seen data this has changed?

I guess I could be wrong, but our program didn't really care about PRITE at all. It was just a day we got out of clinic duties. Everyone in my class passed the boards though. I think most of us did BTB. I just thought PRITE was pretty bad, but I would say the boards also have weird questions. I took them about two years ago, they had too many psychotherapy questions, but thankfully there wasn't much neuro. I love that they are putting less and less neuro on the boards.
