Becoming a dentist is too difficult??

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
no one ever said it was easy. this is the way i see things. work now, play later. don't sacrifice now, and you'll sacrifice a lot more later.

Great things don't come easy. Yes, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication but it will all be worth it in the end. If you're giving up now then maybe this isn't for you...but if you can find some motivation and determination, you will go far. 🙂

I read in one of your other posts that you basically were unaware that it is "almost" as hard as medical school. The truth of the matter is that becoming a dentist is about becoming a doctor, the only difference is that you specialize in the oral cavity. You're going to study many of the things that med students do, and you're going to need to know your stuff when it comes to diseases and diagnoses and all that stuff.

I don't mean to discourage you, but there are no handouts in this life. If you're interested in dentistry but want the easiest route, then you should look into becoming a dental assistant.

I was pretty sure I wanted to become a dentist, but then recently I realized the amount of work, sacrifice, stress, and dedication it involves.

WOW are you serious? I honestly don't think dentistry is for you.. You should invest your time into trying to win the Lottery so you don't have to deal with the work, sacrifice, stress, or dedication. Good luck! :luck:

Shadow or work with some dentists to get the inspiration. I helped with a dentist on their Kid's Day, and just watching him made me get the "I wanna be just like that someday" feeling. It seriously motivated me to study hard for the DAT, although I'm taking it at the end of next summer 😀. I am sure the pre-dents know the feeling that I am talking about right?

Nothing should hold you back from what you want to do when a little blood, sweat, and tears can get you through it.
If not being willing to work and sacrifice a little is what is making you rethink your career choice perhaps it is not what you really want to do. But then again nothing in life is free.

lol true that to the above post.

Nothing you can't do with some blood, sweat and tears... and i mean NOTHING

Well my dream way of leaving this world would be death by black hole, so sir, please tell me how some blood, sweat, and tears can help me achieve this goal.

You could build a rocket ship (blood and sweat). Then fly around in outer space for a very long time until you find a black hole. Then you would drive into it and........ you would be transported to a different time and/or place. Therefore you would cry (tears) since you did not achieve your desired method of death. 🙂
