If this person hasn’t been able to pay this off in nearly 25 years, she’s deserves to be where she’s at. What an idiot. No sympathy here.

I graduated from an ortho program the same year as her (in 2001) with $155k debt. One big difference between me and this lady (Dr. Casas) was I was a young healthy 29 yo person, who had no kid to support…who could easily handle the heavy 6 days/wk workload….who had zero hand/back problem. She said she has just turned 65 yo. So she graduated very late…..at 41 yo. There is a huge difference between a 29 yo body and a 40+ yo body. At that time, she might have had young kids to support…she had to spend time to take her kids to school/after school activities….and could not work full time. She might have had some hand and back issues (due to her age), which prevented her to work full time. That’s why I keep telling young people to work hard when they are young and healthy....graduate on time….avoid taking gap year(s). I don’t recommend older (30+yo) people to apply for dental schools, unless they can pay for their own education and graduate debt-free. I wish some young people would realize that they won’t be young and healthy forever. Time flies very quickly. Work hard and pay off debt ASAP and you will thank yourself later.

it took you two decades to realize the problem?? LOL
