Hey all-

Be careful everyone. today was the first day to set up electives at a certain Hospital in the south and all of the good months are already filled. I called at 1:30 pm and all of the spots for August, Sept, Oct, Nov, and Dec were taken. I think this is crazy, but just to let you know.

Also, I am at a medical school without an anesthesia residency. I was depending on this local hospital for Anesthesia recs, does anyone know some good Southern ( I mean like Texas, Louisiana, MIss, Alabama, and Florida) away rotations that I willhave a good chance of getting a good rec from.

I am very pissed about the elective rotation. UGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

Call the department directly b/c they may be able to help. Frequently, there are 1 or 2 elective spots listed, but the department may be able to get you in anyway. This is especially true for any program with a lot of residents/OR's.

Also, does anyone know of any good programs in the South that provide housing to rotating students.

Is there any particular reason you didn't mention the program you're talking about? I hope it's not the program I just sent my app in to!
