Until I hit the Kingdoms chapter in Cliffs AP bio............. There's so many small details . I searched the forum, and it seems like the majority of it is a waste of time as it is low yield. I just really hate that feeling when you're sitting in the middle of the test, and you get a question you should know and you even remember seeing it, but you can't recall the information because you didn't take the time to absorb it.

Yep this is what slowed me down as well.
I fell back to Feralis' notes and went one by one through all of them. Make Flashcards and push through. You can do it!

Ya my entire schedule is going as planned except biology now. I'm basically two days behind, everytime I start reading through the material I'm like "I'd rather learn some ochem or gen. chem instead...."
I'll go and get some flashcards tomorrow. You tried memorizing all the different types of protists and stuff?

I left memorizing biological diversity stuff for the day/night before the exam. It's low yield (especially relative to the amount of information that section has), but questions from that section can definitely show up on the real test.

Thanks for sharing what you did! Did you just repeat reading your notes over and over the last few days? Or did you make flashcards or anything? I'm focusing incredibly hard on gen. chemistry and organic chemistry at the moment, and trying to just read scientific america daily(a few articles).

Repeated reading the notes over and over...very time consuming but I knew my gen and organic chemistry like the back of my hand at that point.

Yep- memorized all protists, everything.

Btw, don't get paper flashcards. Use Anki. It's AMAZING.
I made one Anki deck for each of Feralis' "units," and reviewed whichever cards came up every morning.

Don't freak out about it. Like others have said it's relatively low yield. However you still need to know it! I had 1 plant question on my exam and even then it was very, very simple.

Craig Savage has an awesome video series on this. It's long, but the way he presents the material is so intuitive that if you take good notes, you'll be completely set for the DAT. Bozeman Science was also helpful, albeit a little less thorough than the former. As others have said, this is low yield material, but if you're gunning for a 22+, you need to know it.

Like "do plants have stems?" kind of simple?

Just wanted to come in and say Craig Savage and his Youtube channel are so good! Talks about topics in depth and it's a lot easier for me to retain info about topics I've never learned about in school (plants and kingdoms overview).
So for anyone looking to learn some concepts, his channel is awesome and you can supplement the learning with cliffs ap bio after you have a base!

do u know how to separate anki by topic? so if I'm weak in taxonomy i can just study those?????

I can export the whole deck to you if you really want? I'm honestly not the biggest fan of flashcards though. I tried it for a few days and it feels like it's not for me although I thought of a way lately but it might be too late to force myself to do that.
