For those of you who have already been accepted, or think they may get accepted...what are all you guys doing bewteen now and the start of Pharm school next fall.....?

Me.. I'm finishing up my undergrad fall semester - its surprising just how stressing classes can be even after I got accepted. Dang O Chem lab. I only have one more pre req to take in the spring..statistics. Ill just take it at a community college to save myself some money, and start racking up some intern hours.

everyone else?

I'm fairly sure that you can't start your 2000 intern hours until you are enrolled (going to class) at an accredited pharmacy school. Further, some states won't allow you to get an intern's license until after the first year.

Just something you might want to think about..

Actually...In Pa you can start getting intern hours whenever your accepted and you make your deposit and all that stuff. Lecom, where I going, actually highly reccomends starting before beginning classes

You should get as much work experience as you can since you're allowed, party a lot, and do what you want. Take a fun vacation. because when you get going, there won't be as much opportunity for that stuff. OK, well there will be as much opportunity as you want (probably more than you need), but you shouldn't do it.

I'm hoping for an acceptance this year, but either way I'll still be going to school through spring quarter. I have a number of pre-reqs to finish up (general biology, statistics, and biochemistry) plus 30 hrs/wk of work as a technician at one of the big chains.

If I don't get in, I'm planning to take a few extra classes next year, maybe immunology and/or genetics, to get a leg up on what we'll need to know for pharmacy school.

If I do get in, though, I'll apply for an internship at a hospital near here. So hopefully, I'll spend the summer before pharmacy school hard at work learning new things! 😀

Anyway, congrats on your acceptance!!
