Do we need to memorize statistics for certain diseases such as the rate of suicide in adolescents, for example. Or things like the percentage of the elderly in the U.S., mortality rates of certain diseases, etc? Basically, the epidemiological facts regarding these things or is this just a waste of time?

For what it's worth, I had a question that required this knowledge on my test. Only one so not terribly high yield, but it is fair game!
